Aqua Body Art

Airbase Aqua, the Inspirational Body Paint Collection from Airbase Make-Up.

Aqua, the more colourful sister of Airbase Foundation, is water soluble, heavily pigmented body paint, designed to meet the requirements of body painting – great for theatre, masquerade balls, festive seasons and festivals.

If we’re honest, with our new stencils you don't have to have the creativity of Saatchi & Saatchi, we’ve made them fun to use, just watch your talent appear as if by magic as you layer up shade after shade in weird and wonderful ways.

Boasting a carnival of colours, means you can spray away those flesh coloured tones and create some inspirational and vibrant body art. Colours are available to purchase separately, so you can mix and match to your hearts content.

Carnival of Colours

Airbase Aqua boasts a collection of 18 colours (and we’re still looking to add more). From primary colours through to metallics we have your needs covered.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the ingredients?

Aqua, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Ricinus, Communis Seed Oil, Polyglyceryl-3, Methylglucose Distearate, Glyceryl, Stearate, Citrate, PEG-35 Castor Oil, Carbomer, Dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylaraben, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Tin oxide.

May Contain (depending which colours you use): +/- Mica, Bismuth Oxychloride, CI.77891, CI.12490, CI.77266, CI.12085, CI.77007, CI.74160, CI.74260, CI.77492, CI.77491, CI.77499, CI.19140, CI.77288, CI.15985, CI.77742, CI.42090, CI.15880, CI.15850, CI.42051.

Does it wash off easily?

Yes. Our colours are water-based meaning they are easily removed with soap and water. Simply step into the shower and wash off with your favoured soap or body wash – for quicker removal use a sponge.

The colours wash out of the hair using any standard shampoo and will not leave any damage.

Is it suitable for professionals?

Absolutely. Our professional packages are designed with professional use in mind. The Airbase Aqua Professional Kits contain a Body Art Compressor (weighing 1.8kg) which sprays up to 25psi for quick coverage of larger body parts and an adjustable pressure gauge. The selected airbrush has a cup that contains 7ml of product for efficient application.

If you are a professional body artist and working regularly, then the equipment provided with the Ultimate Aqua Package and Aqua Primary Essentials Pack is for you.

Just starting out, or simply want to offer face painting – check out our Face Painting Starter Kits.

Can I use my own airbrush and compressor?

Any of the compressors and airbrushes supplied by Airbase are suitable for use with Airbase Aqua products – so the simple answer is yes!

However, if you are painting large areas using a portable Airbase Compressor and Airbrush, then it may take a little longer to finish your look than with the Body Art compressor.

If you have a compressor that isn’t from Airbase, as long as the airbrush is designed for make-up, then it will be ok to use. A nail art brush is NOT suitable as the nozzle size is too small.

You need a nozzle size of 0.3mm – 0.4mm.

Can it be applied with a brush or sponge?

Absolutely. It can be applied with a brush or sponge, but we recommend the use of an airbrush for best results.

What is the most popular kit for professionals?

Aqua Primary Essentials Package. Get started in the art of body art with our Aqua Primary Essentials Package. This kit includes everything you need to get started in creating wild and wonderful body art creations. If you’re feeling more committed, our Ultimate Aqua Package includes stencils and a carnival of colours to unleash your creativity with.

Do you have home use for face painting?

Absolutely – we have a complete range of home use face painting kits. Airbase Aqua is water-based so completely safe to use on children and 'big kids' too. The Face Painting Starter Kits have been created with the home user and part-time face painter in mind. A fantastic introduction into the world of body art and airbrush face painting.

"I have used a lot of airbrush body paints and Airbase flows so nicely through the airbrush, the colours are vibrant and give great coverage. I find that I don’t have to use too much paint, so a little goes a long way. The bronze in particular is one of the best metallic airbrush colours I have tried."
